NCPHIF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and our mission is to educate homeowners to reduce contractor fraud BEFORE a home repair or home improvement project.Scheduled speakers include Detective Frank DeSantis from Financial Crimes Unit for the City of Greenville, NCPHIF Executive Director Phae Howard, Consumer Attorney Charlotte-Anne T. Alexander, and Insurance Agent Bob Lisson, Ph.D. the Deputy Commissioner of the North Carolina Department of Insurance.Some of the tips given to homeowners include:•How to find out if the contractor is licensed and insured•How to manage the building permit process•How to pay the contractor•What should and should not be in the contract•What to do when you and the contractor are in conflictIt is free and open to the public. We welcome all homeowners no matter where they are in their home improvement project.
